A Mother’s Strength: Support Mrs. Rambojun Saraswati in Her Battle Against Stage 4 Cancer

In 2021, Mrs. Rambojun Saraswati received the life-altering diagnosis of stage 4 endometrial cancer, an advanced and aggressive form of cancer that has required extensive treatment to manage. Her journey has been long and filled with challenges, but her unwavering spirit and determination have pushed her through some of the most grueling stages of care.

So far, two crucial treatments have been completed:

    1.    Investigative Workup – The investigative phase was vital to determine the exact extent and nature of Mrs. Saraswati’s cancer. This included a series of diagnostic tests, including scans, biopsies, and blood tests, which allowed her medical team to map out the most effective treatment plan. This workup cost Indian Rupees 1,75,000 (approximately Rs 96,100 Mauritian Rupees).
    2.    Immunotherapy (Pembrolizumab) and Oral TKI (Lenvatinib) – Following the diagnosis, Mrs. Saraswati underwent immunotherapy, specifically Pembrolizumab, which is a groundbreaking cancer treatment that helps the body’s immune system recognize and attack cancer cells more effectively. Alongside this, she was administered oral TKI (Lenvatinib), a targeted therapy that inhibits the growth of cancer by blocking certain proteins that promote tumor development. One cycle of this essential treatment has been completed at a cost of Indian Rupees 5,00,000 (approximately Rs 27,457,3 Mauritian Rupees).

Despite the progress made so far, two more vital treatments remain to give Mrs. Saraswati the best chance to continue her fight:

    3.    Radiation Therapy (3D CRT, 10 sessions) – Mrs. Saraswati will need to undergo 10 sessions of three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy (3D CRT). This advanced form of radiation uses imaging to precisely target the cancerous tissues while sparing healthy cells, reducing side effects. This treatment is crucial in managing the spread of her cancer, helping to reduce the size of tumors and alleviate symptoms. The total cost for this is Indian Rupees 1,00,000 (approximately Rs 54,914 Mauritian Rupees).
    4.    Supportive Care (DJ/PCN Stent and Other Procedures) – Due to complications from her cancer, Mrs. Saraswati will require supportive care, including the insertion of DJ (Double J) and PCN (Percutaneous Nephrostomy) stents, which help to relieve obstructions in the kidneys caused by the tumor, improving her comfort and overall health. These procedures are crucial in maintaining her quality of life and managing symptoms as she undergoes additional treatment. The estimated cost for this essential care is Indian Rupees 2,00,000 (approximately Rs 10,982,9 Mauritian Rupees).

Currently, the family needs to raise 500,000 Mauritian Rupees to continue Mrs. Saraswati’s treatment and ensure she can proceed with her chemotherapy and radiation therapies. Without these funds, they cannot move forward with the life-saving care that is urgently required.

These upcoming treatments are critical in Mrs. Saraswati’s ongoing battle with stage 4 cancer. The fight ahead is tough, but with these interventions, there is hope for more time and improved quality of life. However, the financial burden on her family has been immense. They have already exhausted much of their resources on previous treatments, and they now need the help of kind-hearted supporters to continue her care.

By donating to Mrs. Saraswati’s medical fund, you will be directly contributing to the treatments that can give her more time with her loved ones and the hope of managing this aggressive disease. Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful impact.

Your generosity and support will not only alleviate the financial strain on her family but will also give Mrs. Saraswati the strength and hope she needs to continue fighting this difficult battle.

Thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and your contributions. Together, we can help Mrs. Saraswati take the next steps in her fight.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Sonish Rambojun
