Dear Supporters,

I am excited to announce the next step in my journey of eco-building and sustainable development:

I will be participating in a Full Cob Advanced Workshop in Naivasha, Kenya, from February 9, 2025, to March 16, 2025. This workshop will focus on constructing a 14m² round cob community house at Agatha Amani House Farm, a shelter for survivors of sexual and domestic violence. The project is designed to create a space for community healing, sustainability, and intercultural bonding, where women and children can gather for healing circles, trainings, and personal growth.

This project is deeply meaningful to me because it embodies the values of empowering communities through sustainable living. Agatha Amani House not only provides a safe space for women and children but also integrates permaculture into its operations, teaching residents to care for the land and develop self-sufficiency through sustainable agricultural practices. The shelter’s mission is to break the cycle of violence and poverty by offering counseling, skills training, and support programs that empower survivors to rebuild their lives.

The skills and knowledge I gain from this workshop will not only benefit the project in Kenya but will also be brought back to Mauritius, where I aim to promote sustainable building alternatives and continue my work in eco-construction.

Why This Workshop Matters:

This workshop is the logical next step in my eco-building journey. Having just completed a workshop on building an outdoor kitchen, this upcoming project is a full cob structure, offering an opportunity to learn the entire process of building from foundation to roof. It will significantly expand my skills, preparing me to lead and contribute to similar projects in the future.

Why I Need Your Support:

To make this next step possible, I am raising Rs. 310,000. This will cover:

  • Air tickets
  • Course tuition
  • 5 weeks of food and accommodation
  • Support for documenting the 5-week experience through photography and storytelling.

Your contribution will allow me to continue learning and applying sustainable building techniques while supporting the vital work of Agatha Amani House and bringing these transformative methods back to Mauritius.

This project is about more than just building—it’s about empowering communities and using eco-construction and art as a way to create lasting, meaningful change.

Thank you for your support and for being part of this transformative journey.

Warm regards,

Karl Ahnee
