Christmas Family Food Pack for Coteau Raffin
Cotteau Raffin is situated in Africa, Mauritius, its geographical coordinates are 20° 26' 2" South, 57° 20' 43" East and its original name (with diacritics) is Coteau Raffin.
Economic history of this region as for the rest of Mauritius is intimately linked to the history of slavery and indenture. It is on both these labour systems the economic prosperity of the island depended, in particular, the availability of cheap, plentiful and docile labour.
Today the main activities of the people of Coteau-Raffin is mainly based on fishing.
The squatters in Coteau-Raffin live in deplorable conditions. Without electricity and without water, these are families to whom life is not an easy thing to do.
About fifty families squatting on state land at Coteau Raffin are arming themselves with patience in order to see their situation regularized. They are installed on wasteland, accessible only by a dirt road located at the end of the asphalt road. Some of them have lived here for decades. They erected their houses there from sheets of tin and wood.
We are currenlty working with 15 -30 families, by giving Physical,Intellectual, Emotional,Relational, Spiritual and social support through Discipleship, Couselling and empowerment program.
Join us and build for the long haul.
But this Christmas we want to bless all these families with a Family foodpack containing the following: 1Roasted Chicken, 2Baguettes ,soft drinks,salad,chips and 1 ice cream.
So let's show our love, concern and care to the Destitute and bring these foodpack to them and be grateful of what we have.
